Google Tip #4: Setting Up Vacation Auto-Responder

Going to be away from your email for awhile, such as for a training, conference, or vacation? Follow the steps below to auto-reply to colleagues when you can’t be around.

Steps:

1. In the upper right corner of your Gmail, select the gray gear drop-down.
2. Click “Settings”
3. Scroll to the very bottom of the page to the “Vacation responder” section.
4. Complete the setup by turning the responder on and off, setting the start and end dates, and setting up the message to be sent.
5. Click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the screen.
